History
The Western Alliagence
- Petal was born on a warm, clear night in early greenleaf, in a small den by the sea. Her parents, Needle and Sparrow, were members of the Western Allegiance, an group of loners consisting of about forty cats who all lived near each other by the sea. These cats all live and hunt in the same territory, but each cat, or family of cats, is essentially on their own. There is no leader, deputy, medicine cat, or formal system of metnors and apprentices; however, parents may train their own kits or arrangements may be made to have a kit trained to hunt and fight by friends of the kit's parents if the parents desire. Peace is maintained through a pact made by the ten original members of the Western Alliagence, prisoners who had escaped from a long and bloody war fought in the Northern Wilderness between two savage feline empires. They agreed not to harm each other, hunt peacefully together, and band together against outside attacks should the needs arise. A committee of seniors maintains order throughout the Allegiance and sees that the pack is upheld. The Western Allegiances was entering its sixth year of existence when Petal was born.
